Russian equity markets staged a sharp reversal at the start of the main trading session on Thursday, with both the MOEX and RTS indices climbing 4.02%.
The ruble-denominated MOEX Index reached 2,081.5, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index hit 837.09 as of 10:00 a.m.
Moscow time, according to Moscow Exchange data.
The move marks a significant shift in sentiment following a volatile week.
Russian equities had opened sharply lower on Wednesday, with both indices falling approximately 1.9% amid persistent risk aversion.
The previous day’s decline had followed a session on Tuesday where markets had opened higher, extending momentum from a strong close on Monday.
