The Norwegian Society for the Protection of Animals (Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge) has launched a search for 16 cats reported missing following the major fire in Krokstadelva, Drammen, over the weekend.
The organization confirmed it is actively looking for the animals, possessing photographs and descriptions provided by their owners.
The blaze, which erupted on Friday afternoon, destroyed several homes and forced the evacuation of hundreds of residents.
Previous reporting from the scene described the intensity of the inferno, with families watching from a distance as their properties were consumed by flames.
The fire has left a significant number of households without shelter and facing total loss of personal belongings.
Among those affected is a local cat breeder who managed to evacuate eight of her animals before the fire spread.
