India's securities regulator, SEBI, has formally disposed of proceedings against Religare Enterprises and its former management, including Rashmi Saluja, following the completion of the Burman Group's acquisition of the company.

The regulator stated that the interim directions issued in June 2024 were preventive and remedial in nature.

With control of Religare Enterprises (REL) having passed to the Burman Group in February 2025, SEBI determined that these measures had served their purpose and no further regulatory directions were required.

This development concludes a period of heightened regulatory scrutiny that began as the Burman Group moved to take over the troubled financial services firm.

The disposal of the case removes a significant overhang for the company, allowing the new ownership to focus on restructuring and operational integration without the constraint of active regulatory proceedings.

The resolution aligns with the broader trend of regulatory bodies stepping back once corporate control transitions are finalized and stability is restored.
