Siemens Energy has announced it will abandon the historic Siemens name, rebranding as Omterra.

The DAX-listed industrial group confirmed the change on Tuesday, marking a definitive break from its parent company's legacy as it seeks to establish a distinct market identity in the global energy transition.

Chief Executive Christian Bruch stated that the decision to drop the Siemens brand was clear from the company's initial public offering.

The rebranding is intended to reflect the firm's evolution into a standalone entity focused on renewable energy, grid technology, and gas solutions, rather than operating under the umbrella of the broader Siemens conglomerate.

The move comes as Siemens Energy shares have shown specific strength within the DAX, buoyed by a broader rally in US technology stocks and positive sentiment toward European industrials.

Investors are increasingly viewing the company through the lens of its independent operational strategy rather than its historical ties to Siemens AG.
