Siemens Energy has confirmed it will abandon the historic Siemens name, rebranding as Omterra.

The DAX-listed industrial group announced the change on Tuesday, initiating a process that will see the new identity rolled out gradually over the coming months.

The company stated that the transition phase is expected to last approximately one and a half years, during which both names may appear in various contexts before Omterra becomes the sole corporate identifier.

The rebranding represents a strategic move to establish a distinct market identity separate from Siemens AG, the parent company from which Siemens Energy was spun off in 2020.

By adopting the name Omterra, the group aims to reflect its focus on energy transition technologies and global infrastructure projects without the historical baggage of the broader Siemens conglomerate.

This shift aligns with a broader trend among spun-off entities seeking to carve out independent brand equity in competitive markets.
