Slovakia has dispatched a team of firefighters and a Black Hawk helicopter to France to assist in battling extensive wildfires.
The contingent arrived in France on Friday evening, joining international efforts to contain the blazes that have been ravaging parts of the country.
The Slovak Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the deployment on social media, noting that the team is ready for a demanding and coordinated mission.
The deployment underscores the scale of the crisis in France, where difficult terrain and the rapid spread of fires have necessitated cross-border assistance.
The Slovak contribution adds to the growing list of European nations providing support, including emergency firefighting aircraft such as Canadair planes, which have been requested due to the inaccessibility of some fire zones.
This move is part of a broader European Union response to the intensifying wildfires in France and Spain.
