Spin Master Corp. has abandoned plans to raise prices on its toy lines after receiving a refund on US import tariffs.

The Toronto-based company, which owns popular brands including Paw Patrol, Melissa & Doug, and Hatchimals, had initially intended to increase retail prices to offset approximately US$15 million in additional costs.

These costs were driven by shipping disruptions and trade measures linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The decision to cancel the price increases follows a refund of the duties, effectively neutralizing the margin pressure that had prompted the initial pricing strategy.

By avoiding a price hike, Spin Master aims to maintain consumer demand and protect its market share during a sensitive period for discretionary spending.

The move underscores the volatility of supply chain costs for global toy manufacturers, where geopolitical events can rapidly alter cost structures.
