Suryoday Small Finance Bank (SSFB) reported a 113% year-on-year jump in net profit for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, reaching ₹75 crore.
The surge was driven by robust growth in net interest income, marking a significant acceleration in profitability for the lender.
7% rise in Q1 net profit to ₹1,071 crore, while South Indian Bank saw a 17% increase to ₹378 crore.
Asset quality also showed marked improvement, with net non-performing assets (NPAs) falling to 1.27% of net advances, down from 5.64% in the same period last year.
This sharp decline in bad loans underscores the bank’s efforts to clean up its balance sheet and manage credit risk more effectively.
The results come as other Indian lenders also report strong starts to the fiscal year.
Yes Bank posted a 33.7% rise in Q1 net profit to ₹1,071 crore, while South Indian Bank saw a 17% increase to ₹378 crore.
