Brazilian pulp producer Suzano and US hygiene giant Kimberly-Clark have officially launched their joint venture, Arbex, following the closure of a $1.3 billion transaction on July 1.

The new entity begins operations immediately, combining Suzano’s fiber production capabilities with Kimberly-Clark’s established brand portfolio and global reach in the tissue and hygiene sector.

The deal represents a significant expansion for Suzano beyond its traditional core in pulp and paper, moving deeper into the higher-margin consumer goods value chain.

By partnering with Kimberly-Clark, Suzano gains immediate access to established distribution channels and brand equity in key markets, while Kimberly-Clark secures a dedicated supply of fiber from one of the world’s largest pulp producers.

The venture is structured to operate as a standalone global hygiene firm, aiming to capitalize on growing demand for sustainable tissue products.

Market observers note that the consolidation in the tissue sector continues to accelerate, with major players seeking vertical integration to secure supply chains and improve margins.
