Tata AIG General Insurance has entered into a strategic partnership with Ujjivan Small Finance Bank to distribute its insurance products through the lender’s extensive branch network.
The agreement grants Tata AIG access to 776 branches operated by Ujjivan, spanning 335 districts across 26 states and union territories in India.
This move significantly expands the insurer’s physical footprint, particularly in semi-urban and rural segments where traditional insurance penetration remains low.
The collaboration underscores a growing trend among Indian insurers to leverage banking partners for last-mile distribution.
By integrating insurance offerings into Ujjivan’s existing customer touchpoints, Tata AIG aims to enhance accessibility and cross-sell opportunities.
This strategy aligns with regulatory pushes to deepen financial inclusion and increase insurance density in underserved regions.
