Tata Asset Management has named Anand Vardarajan as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective July 10.

The appointment marks a leadership transition at India’s largest asset manager, with Vardarajan taking over from Prathit Bhobe, who is stepping down from the role.

Vardarajan, who has been with the company since 2018, brings extensive internal experience to the top job.

His promotion signals a continuity strategy for the Tata Group’s financial services arm, relying on an insider who understands the firm’s existing investment philosophy and operational structure.

Bhobe, who led the company through a phase of rapid asset accumulation, will exit the CEO position after his tenure concludes.

The leadership change occurs against a backdrop of broader executive turnover in India’s financial sector.
