The deal marks a strategic expansion for Tata Capital into the southern Indian microfinance market.

Yogakshemam Loans reported assets under management of approximately ₹708 crore as of March 2026.

By taking a controlling stake, Tata Capital aims to leverage the target's existing distribution network and customer base in Kerala to deepen its penetration in the asset-light lending segment.

This move aligns with broader consolidation trends in India's NBFC sector, where larger players are acquiring regional lenders to scale operations and diversify geographic risk.
