Physical gold prices in Thailand climbed sharply on Tuesday, rising 1,050 baht from the previous day’s close to reach 66,600 baht per unit for cast gold, according to local market data.

The jump underscores the continued strength in regional bullion markets, where investors are increasingly turning to precious metals amid broader economic uncertainty.

This development follows the World Gold Council’s recent upward revision of its 2026 price target to $4,100, reflecting a shift in market sentiment toward gold as a core portfolio hedge.

The surge in Thailand aligns with a broader regional trend of rising gold values.

In Malaysia, physical gold prices recently jumped RM13.68 to RM529.86 per gram, while Indian retailers like Tanishq have also hiked 22k gold benchmarks to Rs 13,320 per gram.

These coordinated moves across Southeast Asia suggest sustained buying pressure rather than isolated local fluctuations.
