Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky has publicly denied any personal conflict with former defense minister Mykhailo Fedorov, characterizing their interactions as professional work relations marked by complex issues and differing viewpoints.
In an article published on the military news site Militarnyi, Syrsky addressed the recent public exchange that has drawn international attention.
Fedorov, who was recently dismissed as Ukraine's defense minister, had argued that replacing Syrsky and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov was necessary for the war effort.
He described the relationship with Fedorov as one involving "work relations – with complex issues and different positions," rather than a personal feud.
The statement comes as a direct response to Fedorov's recent calls for Syrsky's removal from his post.
