The US Treasury Department has imposed new sanctions on a network of individuals and entities accused of providing material support to Hamas.

The measures, announced by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), target a senior UK-based Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood official, along with three other individuals and three entities, including a Turkish trading company.

The designations aim to disrupt what Washington describes as a transnational financing infrastructure linked to Hamas operations.

The move adds to a series of recent US sanctions actions targeting Iran-linked networks and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

While the immediate market impact on Treasury yields was muted, the expansion of sanctions into European and Turkish jurisdictions underscores the broadening scope of US financial statecraft in the region.

Investors are monitoring whether these measures will trigger further geopolitical escalation or disrupt energy and shipping routes in the Middle East.
