Visakhapatnam Port has emerged as the dominant gateway for India's seafood industry, handling more than half of the country's marine product exports in the 2025 financial year.

Government data shows the port's share of these exports jumped to 50.87% in FY2025, a significant increase from 29% in FY2024 and 49% in the preceding year.

The surge highlights the facility's expanding capacity and strategic importance within India's supply chain infrastructure.

This growth aligns with the government's One District One Product initiative, which aims to boost regional manufacturing and export capabilities.

The port's ability to process such a large volume of perishable goods underscores its efficiency and connectivity to global markets.

The development comes as India continues to expand its maritime infrastructure.
