ViTrox Corp Bhd shares surged to a record high on Thursday after the Kuala Lumpur-listed machine vision inspection specialist reported a sharp acceleration in profitability for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The company’s net profit more than doubled year-on-year, rising to RM85.04 million from RM28.13 million in the same period last year.

The earnings beat was driven by robust demand for artificial intelligence-driven semiconductor manufacturing equipment, reflecting the broader capital expenditure boom in the AI infrastructure sector.

The stock’s rally highlights the direct transmission of AI capex trends to specialized equipment suppliers.

ViTrox, which provides automated optical inspection systems for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, is benefiting from the industry-wide push for higher yield and precision in advanced chip production.

The more than threefold increase in net profit signals that the demand for high-end inspection tools is outpacing previous growth estimates.
