The weekly service will begin on December 14, 2026, further strengthening Belize's air connectivity with Canada during the peak winter travel season.
The airline said it plans to increase capacity on several of its most popular routes, with additional announcements expected in the coming weeks.
The airline said the new route is part of its strategy to meet growing demand for warm-weather destinations across Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
The Winnipeg-Belize City service complements WestJet's existing flights from Toronto and Calgary, giving Canadian visitors even greater access to Belize's beaches, barrier reef, rainforests, and cultural attractions.
The new Belize route is one of five destinations being added to WestJet's winter network, alongside new non-stop services between Calgary and Mérida, Mexico; Winnipeg and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Regina and San José del Cabo, Mexico; and Ottawa and Liberia, Costa Rica.
WestJet also reaffirmed its position as the leading Canadian carrier serving Belize this winter. The airline said it plans to increase capacity on several of its most popular routes, with additional announcements expected in the coming weeks.
