The International Boxing Federation, known as World Boxing, has officially lifted the ban on Russian boxers, permitting them to compete in its events under the Russian flag.
The organization, which holds recognition from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), announced the decision on Thursday, signaling a notable departure from the broader international sports isolation of Moscow.
This move follows a precedent set in late April, when World Boxing initially allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in its competitions, albeit under a neutral banner.
The latest update removes even that restriction, restoring full national representation for Russian competitors in World Boxing-sanctioned events.

The IOC recently announced its own plan to relax restrictions on Russia, a move that has sparked criticism from Baltic political leaders who argue it undermines the global effort to isolate Moscow.
