BTG Pactual is preparing to launch its first exchange-traded fund focused on Colombia, aiming for an August 2026 debut subject to regulatory clearance.
The São Paulo-based investment bank, Latin America’s largest, is positioning the product as the lowest-priced option in the market, signaling a push to capture retail and institutional interest in the Andean nation’s equities.
The move coincides with the bank’s broader strategy to integrate digital assets into its core offerings.
BTG Pactual is also rolling out in-app cryptocurrency trading, allowing clients to buy and sell digital tokens directly through its mobile platform.
This dual approach reflects a growing trend among regional financial institutions to blend traditional equity products with digital asset services to attract younger, tech-savvy investors.
This expansion follows BTG Pactual’s recent decision to open its BSec securitization platform to competing asset managers, marking a strategic shift from proprietary use to a broader market utility. The bank has been actively diversifying its revenue streams beyond traditional brokerage, leveraging its infrastructure to serve third-party managers and expand its product suite.
