Digital Green India has released a major upgrade to its FarmerChat application, introducing artificial intelligence capabilities designed to provide more precise agricultural advice to its growing user base.
The platform, which has surpassed 1 million registered users, now supports tailored farming guidance in five regional languages, aiming to bridge the information gap for smallholder farmers who rely on localized, accessible advice.
The updated version, dubbed FarmerChat 2.0, introduces significant usability improvements, including the ability to save user preferences and interact via voice commands.
A key feature allows farmers to upload photographs of crop issues, enabling the digital assistant to diagnose problems more accurately than text-based queries alone.
These enhancements are intended to reduce friction in seeking agricultural support, particularly for users with limited literacy or internet connectivity.
