The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has issued a formal denial of widely circulated social media reports alleging a GH¢200 million financial loss linked to the institution.
The board also clarified that Dominic Bonsu, proprietor of Dominic Bonsu Ventures, was not employed as a bodyguard for GoldBod chief executive Sammy Gyamfi, contradicting claims made in the viral posts.
The denial comes amid heightened political and public scrutiny of the state-owned entity.
GoldBod described the allegations as false and misleading, seeking to distance the organization from the specific financial and personnel claims that have gained traction online.
The board's response aims to correct the record regarding both the alleged monetary loss and the nature of the relationship between its leadership and private sector figures.
This development follows earlier controversies involving GoldBod chief executive Sammy Gyamfi, who previously rejected allegations from Member of Parliament Abena Osei-Asare that the board's activities contributed to financial losses at the Bank of Ghana.
