Rahul Ghose, founder and CEO of Octanom Tech and Hedged.in, has significantly upgraded his year-end forecast for the Nifty 50, projecting the benchmark index to close 2026 in the 26,800–27,000 range.

The new target marks a sharp reversal from his earlier outlook, which had predicted marginally negative returns for Indian equities over the same period.

Ghose attributes the bullish shift to a confluence of supportive factors, including sustained foreign portfolio investor (FPI) buying, robust first-quarter earnings reports, and a favorable decline in oil prices.

These elements have helped extend market gains for a second consecutive month in July, despite underlying volatility in the broader trading environment.

The strategist’s revised stance aligns with growing confidence among other market participants regarding India’s equity trajectory.

Market strategist Rohit Srivastava has similarly projected that the Nifty 50 is on track to test the 27,000 level by the end of 2026 or early 2027, underscoring a consensus view that the market’s upward momentum is likely to persist.
