Russian manufacturing activity expanded at its fastest pace in more than a year in July, according to preliminary data from S&P Global.
The seasonally adjusted Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 50.7 from 50.3 in June, marking the second consecutive month of growth and the highest reading since May 2025.
The acceleration was driven by a rise in new sales, which increased for the second month in a row.
The data suggests that domestic demand continues to support the industrial sector, even as the broader economic environment remains constrained by sanctions and supply chain disruptions.
A reading above 50 indicates expansion, and the move to 50.7 signals a modest but notable strengthening in momentum compared to the previous month.
This development comes as global manufacturing indicators show mixed signals.
