Sri Lankan equities closed marginally lower on Monday, marking the third consecutive session of declines for the Colombo Stock Exchange.
The CSE All-Share index slipped 0.04% to settle at 21,121.78 points, capping a week of persistent selling pressure across the market.
The modest drop on Monday follows a more pronounced 0.50% decline on Tuesday, when the index fell to 21,424.99 amid broad-based selling in the utilities sector.
Prior to that, Wednesday saw the index retreat 0.21% to 22,208.55, driven by weakness in real estate stocks.
The cumulative effect of these sessions has pushed the benchmark lower from its recent levels, signaling cautious sentiment among local investors.
The sustained downward trend highlights ongoing fragility in Sri Lanka’s equity market, which has struggled to find a firm footing amid broader economic uncertainties.
