Patriot Resources has acquired a 90 per cent interest in a strategic exploration licence located in the heart of Zambia's Copperbelt.

The tenement is situated just 17 kilometres from the First Quantum Minerals project and is considered prospective for Kamoa-style copper deposits, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

This development occurs as investment in African copper mining remains active, with ventures such as KoBold Metals recently breaking ground on the $2.

The move expands the Australian explorer's footprint in one of the world's most prolific copper-producing regions.

By securing ground adjacent to established major operations, Patriot aims to leverage the geological continuity of the belt while maintaining a leaner operational profile compared to larger peers.

This development occurs as investment in African copper mining remains active, with ventures such as KoBold Metals recently breaking ground on the $2.3 billion Mingomba project in Zambia.

The sector continues to attract capital despite logistical and geopolitical complexities in the region.
