TMK Energy has appointed Steve Skinner as chief operating officer, tasking the US-based petroleum engineer with leading the commercialisation of the company’s major gas project in Mongolia.
Skinner, who also recently joined the company’s register as an investor, brings extensive industry experience to the role as the Australian explorer seeks to advance its flagship asset.
The appointment signals a strategic push to accelerate development timelines and operational readiness for the Mongolian venture.
By bringing in a specialist with deep US gas market expertise, TMK aims to bridge technical execution with commercial strategy, potentially unlocking value from its resource base in a region with growing energy demand.
This move comes as global gas markets see shifting dynamics, with major players like Malaysia’s Petronas expanding their footprint in Central Asian gas fields, including significant developments in Turkmenistan.
The broader trend highlights increased international interest in Central Asian gas resources, providing a favorable backdrop for TMK’s efforts to commercialize its Mongolian holdings.
