Ford has launched its Blue Advantage Gold Certified used-vehicle program in Puerto Rico, marking a strategic expansion of its certified pre-owned (CPO) offerings in the Caribbean market.

The initiative is now available exclusively through the brand’s nine authorized dealerships on the island, providing buyers with access to inspected and warranted vehicles under Ford’s premium CPO tier.

The move underscores Ford’s focus on strengthening its aftersales and used-car business in key regional markets.

By introducing the Gold Certified standard, the automaker aims to enhance consumer confidence in the pre-owned segment, which has seen rising demand as buyers seek reliability and warranty coverage without the premium price of new models.

This development aligns with broader industry trends where automakers are increasingly leveraging certified programs to capture value in the secondary market.

Similar strategies have been adopted by competitors, including Porsche’s rollout of extended service plans for pre-owned models in South Africa, highlighting a global shift toward standardized quality assurance in used-vehicle sales.
