Ghandhara Tyre & Rubber Company Limited has obtained certification from the Gulf Standardisation Organisation (GSO), clearing the path for exports to six major Gulf Cooperation Council markets.
The regulatory approval grants the Pakistani tyre manufacturer access to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The certification removes a significant trade barrier, allowing Ghandhara Tyre to compete directly in one of the world’s most lucrative automotive aftermarket regions.
For investors, the move signals a strategic expansion beyond domestic and traditional export corridors, potentially diversifying revenue streams and reducing reliance on local demand cycles.
This development arrives as Pakistan’s industrial sector sees a series of regulatory clearances aimed at boosting export competitiveness.
Recent approvals include the Competition Commission of Pakistan’s green light for Stonepeak’s acquisition of BP’s Castrol lubricants business in the country, alongside a new Brownfield Refining Policy designed to modernise petroleum infrastructure.
