The Nigerian Navy has seized approximately 87,000 litres of suspected stolen crude oil and illegally refined fuel after dismantling a concealed storage facility in Rivers State.
The operation marks the latest escalation in military efforts to curb bunkering and illegal refining in the Niger Delta region.
This development follows a series of similar raids in recent weeks.
Authorities previously dismantled nine illegal refining sites in Rivers State, recovering about 104,000 litres of stolen crude, and later targeted two reactivated sites, seizing more than 126,000 litres of suspected stolen oil and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
The recurring nature of these operations highlights the entrenched infrastructure supporting illicit fuel trade in the region.
