Corrections & removal of content
How Handelsavisen corrects errors, and how to ask us to correct or remove content. The responsible editor has final authority over all editorial decisions (the Norwegian Media Liability Act).
1 · We correct errors, openly
Corrections are made in the article itself with a visible correction note stating what was wrong and when it was fixed, and logged publicly at /corrections/. We do not silently rewrite history: correction, not disappearance, is the rule.
2 · Reporting an error
Write to kontakt@handelsavisen.no (or editor@handelsavisen.no) with the article link and what is wrong, with documentation where possible. We acknowledge within 2 business days; confirmed material errors are corrected as fast as we can — normally the same day.
3 · Requesting removal (takedown)
Write to takedown@handelsavisen.no with: (a) the link, (b) the basis — factual error, privacy, copyright or other legal ground, (c) who you are and your connection to the matter. Acknowledgment within 2 business days; a reasoned answer normally within 10 business days.
4 · How we assess
Requests are assessed by the responsible editor with legal support — never automatically. We balance freedom of expression and information against the person affected. Outcomes: correction with note · update · right of reply · de-indexing · removal in exceptional cases. Dislike of coverage is not, by itself, a ground for removal.
5 · Copyright
Use the same address; identify the work, your rights and the location of use. Justified claims are resolved quickly.
6 · Personal data
GDPR requests are handled as described in the privacy policy; for published journalism the journalistic exemption applies and the editor-with-legal assessment above governs.
7 · Source protection is absolute
No request, on any basis, reaches sources or unpublished material.
8 · Courts and authorities
Legally binding orders are honoured and disclosed in the log to the extent we lawfully can.
