Terms

Terms of Service

The terms on which Handelsavisen is provided. This is a draft for legal review.

1 · Who we are

Handelsavisen is operated by Handelsavisen AS, org. no. 932 297 922, Langes gate 7, 0165 Oslo, Norway. Responsible editor: Jørgen Knive (Medieansvarsloven; editorial independence). Contact: legal@handelsavisen.no (editorial: editor@handelsavisen.no).

2 · Scope & tiers

These Terms cover readers, registered/subscriber users, and paid-data customers. Paid-data services may be provided by Cerestral AS under separate data terms incorporated by reference.

3 · Editorial nature & automation

Content is journalistic and may be produced or assisted by automated systems under the responsible editor’s oversight; all factual claims are attributed to sources.

4 · Not investment advice

All content — including scores, rankings, screeners, company pages and analysis — is for information purposes only. It is not investment advice, not a personal recommendation, and not an offer or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any security. Do your own research; markets carry risk, including loss of capital.

5 · Acceptable use

No scraping, bulk extraction, reverse engineering, or redistribution of our content or data except as expressly licensed. API and redistribution are not offered at launch; on-site display only.

6 · Accounts & payment

There are no paid services at launch. Handelsavisen is free to read; we do not sell subscriptions, take payment, or operate auto-renewal. Current withdrawal, refund and cancellation terms are at /en/refund/ and are shown at checkout.

7 · Intellectual property

Our content, scores and trademarks are owned by us or our licensors. Third-party material remains its owners’.

8 · Third-party content & links

We link to original sources; we are not responsible for third-party content.

9 · Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided “as is”; liability is limited to the extent permitted by law; mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.

10 · Complaints & takedown

See the Corrections & takedown policy.

11 · Governing law & venue

Norwegian law governs, with venue in the Norwegian courts, for the newspaper.

12 · Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes are notified.

13 · Language

These terms exist in Norwegian and English. For handelsavisen.no the Norwegian text is operative; the English is an informational translation. For roi.ink the English text is operative.

About our data

Sources. Our content is built on public and licensed sources — among them the Norwegian Brønnøysund registers (NLOD 2.0, with attribution; role data is processed on its own legal basis), Oslo Børs/NewsWeb, SEC EDGAR, Finanstilsynet, Statistics Norway, Norges Bank, companies' own reports, and licensed market-data providers (display-restricted). A source list with licences is published at /methodology/.

What “covered” means. A company is covered when it has a company page here built on the sources above, with source references. Coverage describes what the page actually shows — two covered companies may differ substantially in data depth, depending on what the sources contain for each of them.

What the data is not. (1) Not complete. Coverage is partial and under construction; we do not claim otherwise. (2) Not real-time, unless expressly stated; registry data follows the source's update cycle. (3) Not audited by us. We reproduce what the sources publish; an error in a source will normally be reproduced until the source corrects it or we discover it — and when we discover it, we correct it under our corrections policy (see /en/corrections-policy/). (4) Not advice — see the investment-advice clause. (5) Estimates and model output are labelled as such. HA Estimat figures are our own calculations, not broker consensus; predicted events are model output, not announced facts. (6) AI-assisted production under editorial responsibility. The method is open, it is not error-free, and we say how confident we are.

How we count coverage. We count consolidated issuers — not legal entities, and not listings. A group with twelve subsidiaries and three listings is one company here. Counts based on entities or listings will look higher for the same real coverage; we state the counting method together with any figure we publish. Specific coverage figures are published separately, dated and with the counting method — not in these terms.

Known gaps we disclose ourselves. (1) Global coverage is under construction — our base does not yet include every listed company in the markets we cover, and we do not claim that it does. (2) Norwegian banks and insurers lack accounts figures — the Norwegian accounts register exempts the sector; those figures will be missing or drawn from other sources. (3) Estimate coverage is narrow, and mainly American; the absence of an estimate is not the absence of a company. (4) History is short where the source is short. (5) Personal data is handled more narrowly than the sources permit — role information appears tied to a company and an event, never as a standalone searchable profile of a person.
