Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara, has officially signed a Share Purchase Agreement to acquire four state-owned asset management companies, consolidating approximately US$10.5 billion in assets under management into a single entity.

The transaction brings together PNM Investment Management, BNI Asset Management, Mandiri Asset Management, and BTN Asset Management.

The move finalizes a strategic push by the Indonesian government to streamline its state-owned financial sector and create a more competitive domestic asset management champion.

According to Antara News, the signing marks a key milestone in Danantara’s broader mandate to optimize state-owned enterprise performance.

The consolidation aims to reduce internal competition among state-backed managers and pool resources to better serve Indonesia’s growing retail and institutional investor base.

This development follows earlier reports that Danantara had initiated the merger process to unify these fragmented entities.
